If the village unites, working becomes easier

I am Shyam Bahadur Chhantyal. I am in Raghuganga Rural Municipality Ward No. 8 I live in Mangale Tole of Kuinemangale village. Twenty-four families live in my village. I have three daughters in my family and five of us husband and wife. Two daughters are studying in 8th and 9th grade, while the younger daughter has trouble speaking even though she is stubborn, she will have to be admitted to a special class taught by the deaf.
My main occupation is agriculture. I’m struggling with agriculture. Since my village is very cold, all kinds of farming are less and it takes a long time to ripen the planted grain. During my leisure time, I work in the village to build houses. Sometimes I take the responsibility of building a house if I get a chance.
I am also an advisor to Shree Krishna Youth Club in my locality. Similarly, I was also the vice-president of Shree Krishna Community Forest Users’ Association of my village.
My village was not good in the field of sanitation. To avoid the cold, it was the custom of all the households to make a stove in the middle of the house and light a fire. The fire that comes out of this kind of fire makes the look of a new house different in the same year. It is customary that if the house changes, there will be no insect in the wood of the house. This practice has been going on for years as it can also be heated when burning a fire. We enjoyed cooking and heating in the same way.
Similarly, in May this year, the employees of suahara program had planned to hold meetings and show films at the community hall of the village. After watching the film, everyone in the village was present. A film on cleanliness was shown there. After watching the film, there was a discussion about cleanliness. We realised that there was a lot of work to be done in our village.
In the meeting, everyone was ready to improve the issues of toilets, drinking water, washing hands with soap, and cleanliness around the house. Before that time, I and all the villagers felt that it was very relevant now.
Among the things that was discussed at that time, the decision to bring an improved stove is still amazing to me. Since our village is cold, it is customary to make a big stove in everyone’s house to heat the fire and burn many firewood at once. A heavy piece of wood can only be done by cooking a meal. The forest is getting eroded due to the need for more wood. Earlier, wood was found in a nearby forest. You have to go away now. Such a situation has worried us. He may even be the vice-president of the forest department. One day, a meeting of Sri Krishna Youth Club, Sri Krishna Mother’s Group and Sri Krishna Community Forest Users’ Group was held and it was decided to bring improved iron stoves in other villages. It was also decided to contribute Rs 2,000 per house from the Sri Krishna Mother’s Group fund. We raised the rest of the money on our own. All the houses have also brought the stove, while I had already made the soil improved stove, it has been working. Everyone’s home is improved. It is easier to work if you get a village.
